Helped 30 families cultivate at least 30 varieties of organic products for personal consumption and sale of excess to increase their income in rural Kenya

This project creates a powerful pilot that will serve 42 girls and their families (approximately 336 people). These girls and families represent over a dozen rural villages

Our International Projects

Our club has contributed to the following projects in the last 4 years.

Water & Sanitation
Aguas Calientes, Nicaragua

  • Provided a latrine and hand-washing station for each and every household in the village (150 total). Total impact to 675 people.
  • The families received training in maintenance for their household latrines and will be responsible for their long-term upkeep.
  • Construction materials we all sourced locally
  • Our contribution was $6,500 and totaled $47,500.

Water & Sanitation
Kisii, Kenya

  • Water and sanitations systems for 37 Schools and 70 Health Care Facilities
  • Our contribution was $1,000 for a $260,000 project total.

Economic and community development
El Pencal, Colombia

  • Project is designed to help 30 families cultivate at least 30 varieties of organic products for personal consumption and sale of excess to increase their income.
  • We donated $7,000 for a project total of $37,500.

Disease prevention and treatment
Nepal

  • Project is to improve access to, and expand medical services through, a 9-1-1 type Medical Dispatch and Response Center that connects rural Nepali citizens with emergency medical services for disease prevention and treatment.
  • We contributed $2,100 toward a project total of $105,000.

  • End Malaria Now - Colombia
  • We contributed $2,000 towards a $148,000 project.

Basic education and literacy
Guatemala

  • This project creates a powerful pilot that will serve 42 girls and their families (approximately 336 people).
  • Preparation for university entrance exams
  • Training on soft skills for job interviews and workplace readiness/success
  • Workplace English & IT training to increase employability
  • Formal internships to generate experience and informed decision-making
  • We contributed $1,000 towards a total project of $60,000.

La Guajira, Colombia

  • Provided solar electricity and a freezer for a school in rural Colombia.
  • We contributed $6,500 to the project.

Peace and conflict prevention/resolution
Colombia

  • Conflict Transitions - Empowering Entrepreneurs in Colombian Territories
  • The main objective of this project is to build the capacity of 10 social and environmentally conscious social enterprises that are working to create economic and social development opportunities in territories most affected by the armed conflict.
  • It is a 10-month program to train leaders working for peace with sustainable social entrepreneurship tools and socioemotional skills; and promote inclusive spaces of economic participation for peace entrepreneurships.
  • We contributed $1,000 towards a total project of $167,000.

Peace and conflict prevention/resolution
Nepal

  • This global grant is training women’s rights leaders to develop skills and build a network that enables them to seek measures to both prevent and redress violence against women.
  • We contributed $300 towards the total project of $122,500
