Many Nations Academy (MNA) begins a new school year on Tuesday, September 8, 2020. School staff will assist students’ transition to comprehensive distance learning during the first week. Virtual classes then begin the following Monday, September 14, 2020. [To learn more about the MNA plan for re-opening, please follow the link to our blog to the right.]
We understand that MNA families are not only grappling with the stress of preparing for distance learning, but also from the real effects of the economic recession. School supplies are a basic necessity that can cause hardship to some of our families.
Even though classes will be virtual, NAYA remains committed to providing our students with the supplies that they need to be successful. Every year we offer our students and families materials from backpacks, notebooks, pens, pencils, art supplies, and anything else they might need. Because a shockingly high number of our students are homeless, we also provide items like toothbrushes, snacks, and warm socks.
To meet the academic needs of our very deserving students, NAYA has launched a Back-to-School Supplies Drive through September 8, 2020. We’ve set up a wish list of items here. Items cost anywhere from $4 to $55, so whatever level you are able to give, there is something you can donate.
With one week left to go in the drive, there are still so many items remaining on our list.
Knowing that every purchase helps a student, and shows them that their community believes in their academic promise, will you donate schools supplies to our Many Nations Academy and other students today?
